The university is involved in the transportation of dangerous goods in connection with its activities. Therefore, depending on the type and quantity of dangerous goods, at least one dangerous goods officer must be appointed in writing. The dangerous goods officer advises those responsible in order to ensure the safe transportation of dangerous goods. Anyone who holds a valid training/examination certificate for the relevant mode of transport may act as a dangerous goods officer.
At TUM, the Dangerous Goods Officer is appointed externally and organizationally assigned to the University Department 6 - Health, Safety, Radiation Protection. Further responsibilities, the organization of dangerous goods transports and the enforcement of the relevant regulations are governed by the organizational decree on dangerous goods of the Technical University of Munich (OrgV ADR).
