The TUM Gender Equality Office and TUMgesund invite all interested employees to a keynote speech on the topic of years of change/menopause:
General conditions: Date: Thursday, October 30, 2025, 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Location: hybrid - Location/Zoom link will be announced upon registration (will be available from September 22, 2025)
Speaker: Dr. Annette Spiekermann and the Menopause Team
Participants: All female TUM employees before, during, and after menopause, as well as interested employees (in leadership positions).
Cost: None - funded by the TUM Gender Equality Office
There are still many unanswered questions and taboos surrounding menopause: What really happens – and is it the same for everyone or always different? Should I just carry on as before? Should I push myself even harder to compensate for the lack of sleep, mask the discomfort, and avoid revealing the inner distress too much? Is it possible to overcome it together – and perhaps better? Women in Germany are currently experiencing a phase lasting four to seven years, including at TUM – regardless of whether they work in academia or administration. And often all of this happens simultaneously: special (leadership) responsibilities at work, children leaving the nest, parents becoming in need of support, relationships struggling with (old) routines. This is where the keynote speech begins, followed by 45 minutes for questions and discussion.
Those interested can apply for a five-hour personalized support program. They will be accompanied by experts from the Change Years team: alternative practitioners, a sports therapist, a nutritionist, a systemic consultant, and a Gestalt therapist.
A cooperative event between TUMgesund and the TUM Gender Equality Office
If you are interested, please register in advance using the registration form so we can plan for the number of participants. Thank you!
